Sunny Bank PRS, Est 1989.

In January 1988, “Sunny Bank” in Tottington, was opened as a registered residential care home for clients with mental health problems, by Cliff Freeman (R.M.N., ENB 655) and Mary Freeman (Dip. C.o.T. reg HPC).  Sunny Bank is registered with the Care Quality Commission.

In January 1991, Cliff and Mary formed the company Sunny Bank Psychiatric Rehabilitation Service PRS, with a view to being able to offer a fully integrated rehabilitative psychiatric Service (residential care, day care and supported accommodation).

At all times we aim to provide a high standard of professional support/care and expertise, which has been recognised by fellow health care professionals.

The aim of Sunny Bank is to provide client-centred, rehabilitative, residential provision, for 21 residents who require medium to long term care, some of whom progress on to (semi) independent living within the community.

Rehabilitative day care has also been provided at Sunny Bank  and we have also provided limited residential respite care for some of our day care clients.

Currently the C.Q.C. has decided that the Service was meeting all CQC National Standards.

Daisy Field & Greenside

Having recognised the demand for further supported rehabilitation in semi-independent settings, the Freeman’s opened “Greenside” as a 3 bedded supervised rehabilitation house in 1989, and in October 1994, “Daisy Field” was opened, which is another supervised rehabilitation house, divided into 4 bed-sits.

In March 2003, Greenside and Daisy Field were both de-registered, so that they could operate under the national Supporting People strategy. Sunny Bank PRS has continued to provide the tenants in these properties with assured short-hold tenanted accommodation, and appropriate levels of rehabilitative support (and some care if required).

Acres View

In 2007, Acres View, a property close to Sunny Bank, opened.  Like Greenside and Daisy Field, it provides 4 tenants with assured short hold tenancy accommodation in a large shared house. It does not operate within the Supporting People strategy, but is specifically for clients who require a high level of support, and more importantly, ongoing care from ourselves.

The support and care at these 3 properties is provided by the staff team based at Sunny Bank.

Currently we have clients from the following local authorities:-

Bury, Rochdale, Manchester, Salford, Wigan, Tameside, Oldham, Liverpool (& previously from Bolton and Lancashire).
